Designing Math Fonts
In the design of mathematical fonts (to accompany an existing text font family) one faces some common problems (e.g. font dimensions, certain glyph shapes) and some general design decisions (e.g. the height of math_axis, the general size and shape of symbols, rule_thickness, TeX's font dimensions explained in Appendix G etc.).
This presentation gives an overview of these problems and decisions and will give some general direction for their solution.
An outlook on further development of NewMath encodings and fonts and on LatinModern Math fonts development is also given.
